Indie rock is a subgenre of rock music that I listened to a lot in my formative years.

Some of my favourite music is the stuff my Dad grew up listening to: music from the 70s that he’d play while I was young. I’ve often thought about the equivalent of that for my son, who was born in 2020, and I guess it’s the mid-00s indie rock that I loved as a teenager.

So how best to educate today’s youth about mid-00s indie rock? And does it really stand to develop the same legendary reputation as the classic rock from my Dad’s generation?
